Look back at the activities we did on Thursday, working with a partner. How are these two activities valuable to us in our class and the enviroment we are trying to create?
This activity was very important to teach us to trust our peers. Since we couldn't see, we had to trust our partner to help us. Sometimew we can't do everything by ourselves, so we need the ability to trust others to help us. We also need to be trust worthy ourselves, and don't do anything to let that person think she or he can't trust us.
These activities force us to trust our partners and the people around us. As the person with eyes closed, the people around you, mainly your partner, were responsible for your safety and getting you to your destination. These activities are valuable to our class because we are exercising trust and responsibility.
This activity is valuable to us in class because it teaches us how to trust our classmates. The people who couldnt see had to trust their partner and even if the partner did crash them into something, they had to take responsibility for it. So, this activity taught us trust and responsibility.
This activitiy was importnant to our clas because it teaches us to trust our partners and be a able to depend on them. The person with the closed eyes had to rely and trust on their partner. and the person with their eyes open had to take the responsibily of caring for their temporarily blind person.
These activities are important because we have to learn to trust people expecially if we are going to be putting our safety in the hands of those holding us up by a rope when we go climbing. We also have to be responsible by not putting others in harms way by guiding our "cars" around other "cars".
The activity was important to the class because it helped build trust as well as teaching responsibility. The person directing the "car" had to be responsible and keep them safe, while the person who was the car had to trust that their partner wouldn't let them get hurt. Also, I think keeping our eyes closed the entire time proved to be a challenge of courage. People started imagining situations in their head and opend their eyes, but it took courage to just let it go.
We are trying to create a trusting enviornment in this class. This will allow us to move forward and do slightly more difficult or dangerous activities such as climbing.
The activity was meant to help us trust in one another and to take up responsibility. I remember during the car activity I had to watch out for my partner so she wouldn't get hurt, and so she would go where she's supposed to. This will help us when we begin to climb and repel.
The race car activity was to help us trust our partners to get us through different obstacles without having to look for ourselves (putting our fate into their hands). The Hog call was for us to get used to get used to depending on others for guidance and not be afraid of acting embarrasing. These activities wil help us provide a safe and comfortable environment where we can do more things that might be usually out of our comfort zones.
The car activity helped us trust are partners more and go through different obstacles. By having are eyes closed we had to trust our parnters by guiding us in the right direction. The hog call was a way to communicate better with our partners :)
the activity we did on thrusday showed us that we need to rely on others. In thehog call activity we had to have trust to make sure we find our partner by their sound, we needed to be responsible for kepping our eyes closed and trying to hear our hog call, and we needed communication to be able to find our partner.
In the car activity we lost our sight. We had to trust our partner to guide us, and not make us crash. Also we needed communication between the signals and the car. Also we needed responsibility between having our eyes closed and making sure we give the car the proper signal.
By losing one of senses we lose a vital part that lets us function. in this activity we saw how hard it was and how we need to rely on others to get a job done.
Generally, the race car activity allowed us to build trust with our partners when they guided us as cars. On the other hand, the activity furthered our responsibility as the driver because we needed to ensure the safety of our partners. The Hog call furthered the trust between partners because one partner had to rely on the other so the pairs could find each other.
These activites helped us get into the mindset of completely trusting other people. A lot of us opened our eyes because we got scared, but activities like this will get us closer to complete trust, which is what we need for climbing.
Both these activites taught us more values between our peers. We learned to trust each other a little more and to open ourselves up to fault. The Car Activity allowed both partners to not only gain more trust in each other but it also allowed us to get to know everyone's personal limit. Some people were afraid to close their eyes all the way while others weren't afraid at all. The Hog Call game made us prone to embaressment and fault. We learned that making mistakes is okay even though you may be that last to accomplish a task. Everyone is different and has a variety of risks they are willing to take. For example, the shy people probably didn't feel comfortable calling out thier sound so they felt better just to open their eyes and not like silly at the end. We all have to learn that no one is perfect and eventually we should be able to trust and respeact each other so no one feels left out. We also need to stray away from forming clique groups and hanging around people we wouldn't normally "chat" with.
These activities helped us learn the true concept of trust and be able to also recipricate that trust to others. If your partner didnt trust you, they would tend to open their eyes and ruin the concept of the activity. I think this activity is a step in helping our class as a whole trust eachother, and by the end of the year we will hopefully be able to trust every person in the class with these activities. Overall creating a trustworthy environment.
Both activities made us trust our partner that they wouldn't run us in to anything and that they wouldn't leave us standing in the middle of the shelf. I think these activities are going to help us trust the entire class and this was also a step in team building so that when we get to later activities like rock climbing and propelling we will trust one another to not let each other fall.
The partner activity we did was fun but it was a little scary! Even though i trusted my partner, i still felt very unsure of my surroundings. This is a good activity for us to do because it teaches us to trust the people were working with.
this one was difficult because you had to fully trust your other partner. during the hog call, it was really hard to find my partner because she's quiet, and everybody was screaming at once. the race car was a little bit easier, but still difficult for me because i hate not being able to see!
this activity made us trust one another and the driver had to be responsible of the car moving and trying not to hit another car etc. it was kinda harda becuase i have issues between left and rights... yeahh that's bad, but i still tried my best to move the car smoothly.
I have been teaching since 1995. I started teaching at Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine. In 2001 I began teaching at Fremd. I am an assistant golf and wrestling coach. I have also coached boys gymnastics and I was a sponsor for Powder Puff Football and Outdoor Adventure Club. I am the 4th child of 5, 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. I am married and I have two great boys 2 1/2 year old and a 5 week old. Chase and Brody. I love it when I come home and chase yells out "DADDY" and has a big smile on his face and is coming to hug me.

i wasn't here for this activity but I'm pretty sure we can use this as a reference for something later in team building.
