Give us your reaction to our activity on Thursday (Stepping Stones), keep in mind the 3 principles we are working on (Respect, Responsibility, and Trust). Be as specific as you can in your insights.
With the stepping stone activity my group obviously messed up big time and regardless of that fail we still respected eachothers ideas. We were responsible when it came to stepping on the lava and we trusted eachother when moving mat to mat.
As our group did this activity, we respected our group members who told about their ideas how we could succeed this activity, trusted their ideas and them, followed them, and we were responsible what we were to do.
With this activity, we really had to respect everyone's ideas. More then that we had to trust that someone didn't step off the mats, and make it much harder to cross.
With this activity, I really learned that communication is very important because our group messed up. He lacked communication which caused us to lose a bunch of stones and we had to start over. However, we did have trust and respect when we talked about what we were going to do and when we moved on the steps.
During this activitiy my group messed up, but despite that we still managed to get our team across. Lack of communication played a huge role in losing our stepping stones. However, we had trust in each other to get the stones across and we respected each other's ideas.
In this activity, my group lost some stones, but we still overcame that barrier and we succeeded first. we had lots of trust and we were responsible of our actions (f we lost a stepping stone. We had respect. we didnt blame the people that lost the stones because it would have incouraged them even more.
I thought it was really fun and challenging. We all had to be respectful by listening to other peoples ideas about how to get across. We all had to be responsible by doing our part not to touch the "lava" and never let the rug loose human contact. We all had to tust each other to do our part and not feak if someone is not doing something your way. We can't yell at others for messing up either.
I thought this activity help demonstrat trust responsibility and trust because we all had to trust eachother, we had to be responsible to not touch the lava, and he had to respect eachother and not get mad if someone messed up.
The stepping stones activity really showed how much we have to rely on others. We had to work as a team. Whenever we lost a stone, it affected the whole group and we had to work with what we had left. We also had to be responsible for others and look out for them as they have done onto me. We also learn to respect others. Especially when someone made a mistake like losing a stepping stone, we couldn't point fingers.
The stepping stones activity was great for team building in our individual groups. We demonstrated respect by listening to others ideas. We trusted each other by believing that if we fell we wouldn't be made fun of and our classmates would help us out. We were responsible for each other and our own actions, we couldn't blame others if something went wrong, we had to all take responsibility for what went wrong. It was overall a good activity to become closer with our classmates.
The stepping stone activity was an amazing cooperation activity. We would respect one an other by listening to their ideas and not laughing or yelling when another teammate fell of the stone. Responsibility was an important factor of the activity. We needed to be responsible for our actions. Everyone had to be responsible for being on the stone and for passing the stone. Trust was based on the responsibility you took. Everyone in our group took the same amount of responsibility. We would trust one another to pass the stone and to be on a stone. Also wee had to trust and try the idea that someone came up with.
Yea this activity sounds fun... Too bad I missed it. This activity seems like it better helped people to communicate and to listen to each other. I guess we were put in small groups they had to learn to trust on another.
I thought my group handled it very well. We immediately agreed upon an idea and only lost one stone the entire time. We were also very willing to accept other people's ideas even if we didn't agree with them right away. Like when someone suggested that we should collect the stones while shifting the line, no one questioned it they just did it. Also no one got frustrated or upset with other members of the group.
I wasn't here Thursday, but I did partake in the stepping stone activity today.
I liked how we all tried to help eachother's teams and it wasn't one big competition but nobody thought ahead to everyone being in the middle. When some were "blind" they had to trust others to tell them where the stepping stone was and we each had a responsibility to stay on the rocks as to not send our team back.
Our group did really well in this activity. We all resected each others ideas, trusted our groupmates to do their job, and took responsibility for doing our own job. You have to do all of these things to be sucessful as a group.
I thought the activity brought out the class's sense of community because each individual group had to essentially work as a team to accompish a goal. Each one of us had to rely on the other group memebers for success
I liked the activity I think every group had they're challenges along the way but in the end we all helped eachother out! I think respect is important in this activity because we all can't be yelling at eachother what to do even though i do that sometimes.............. but we need to know when to not cross other's boundaries which i think we did a good job at. Everyone was responsible for getting themselves to the other side, andddddd we were all responsible for getting our passed out teammate(wood) to the other side which was pretty easy once we discovered how to do it. Also, especially the blind people had to trust those who were guiding them otherwise they'd fall in the LAVVAAAAA!!!!!
This activity was good for us to continue learning to work together. We had to be RESPONSIBLE for our own bodies and the carpet squares to make sure that we all get across safely without losing the squares pr having to re-start. I felt like my group RESPECTED each other's opinions and ideas. We gave each idea some thought to see if it might work for us. We also had to TRUST the other members of our team that they would carry through the task and be responsible for the part they played in the activity.
Our group's biggest problem was respecting each other's ideas. We didn't really discuss how to go about getting across, we just jumped into it. However, people did take the responsibility of working their hardest to get across, and we trusted each other that we were all working to our full potential.
With this activity, we really had to respect everyone's ideas. More then that we had to trust that someone didn't step off the mats, and make it much harder to cross.
i thought this activity was fun and a good way to work together. we all messed up a lot, but we practiced teamwork and trying to figure out how to use other teams to our benefit. it was sometimes difficult to all agree on one specific way how to cross the carpet
I have been teaching since 1995. I started teaching at Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine. In 2001 I began teaching at Fremd. I am an assistant golf and wrestling coach. I have also coached boys gymnastics and I was a sponsor for Powder Puff Football and Outdoor Adventure Club. I am the 4th child of 5, 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. I am married and I have two great boys 2 1/2 year old and a 5 week old. Chase and Brody. I love it when I come home and chase yells out "DADDY" and has a big smile on his face and is coming to hug me.
