Rappelling Goals

Let us know what your goals for this final week of rappelling are? How many times you will rappel, how many times you will belay, as a group how many rappels a day are you going to try to do? Different styles of rappelling what will you do, upside down and recover, go all the way down upside down, jumping off the wall under control, going face forward? Last 3 days, have fun.

  1. I really want to repel for the remaining three days. I've already gone upside down and jumped off the wall, but I'd like to try them again to get a better feel for them. Going face forward, I guess it's worth a try, but I'm not looking forward to it. As for belay, it doesn't matter to my who's doing it, so long as when the person slips everyone doesn't go over.

  2. Hopefully I'll be able to rappel 3 times, but with so many people in my group, it may be hard. I think our goal is to have 5 people rappel each day. My goal is to go down forward and not slip like I did the first time I tried!

  3. Lie Kelsey said, our group has the most people but I still want to try to go everyday. We seem to be doing extremely well getting people down, I think one day all seven of us repelled! I want to try going face down again, and sorry Kelsey, I shouldn't have told you to jump it was my fault you slipped, but at least you were at the ground.

  4. Our group has been doing pretty good with making sure everyone goes, and some of us have gone down twice in one day. I really like rappeling. I've fallen and recovered, and jumped a couple times, but I want to try going down face forward at least once. We'll see how that goes!

  6. I think as a group we have been doing well with getting everyone to repel everyday. I think I have finally gotten the hang of it, so personally I would like to go upside down and recover and jump off of the wall.

  10. I want to repel as much as possible these last few days so I know that I'll be confortable at our end of the year trip. I want to also know how it feels to be upside down and maybe even forward!

  11. I think it'd be good if everyone in our group repels 2-3 times and belays 2-3 times too. We've gotten pretty good at it so maybe our goal could be to get 5 people to repel in one day. My goal is to repel upside down but I'm nervous!

  16. I think our group is quite fast at the whole repelling thing. We manage to get at least everyone down once and then if we have time, we usually get people to go twice. I've gone down all different kinds of ways except going upside down so I think I should try that. I hope my group gets enough time to repel as many times as they want throughout the next three days while having lots of funn :)

  17. I'm really exctied for this week. I want to try and go forward.. But we will see. I think our group can get everyone down atleast once, and maybe a few will go twice. I think that we should try and get everyone in our group to go forward or atleast go up side down and then recover.

  19. I want to try to rappel every day that we are rappelling. I haven't tried jumping yet but I have gone partially upside down. I hope to start really getting comfortable with rappeling.

  20. I want to try going upside down this week, and hopefully get to go down 2 or 3 times. My group is doing really well, we get every single person down and sometimes someone can even go twice in one day. I hope to continue this way and keep getting better and better at the rapelling process.

  21. I want to go down forwards. I've already jumped and gone upside down, so I'd feel very accomplished by doing that. I want balay as many times as possible and just have fun with the rappeling

  23. I still find regular rappelling very scary, but I'm really liking belaying. Also the set-up is getting easier every time we do it. I'm really looking forward to learning how to set-up for the different kinds of rappels. Plus it's been really exciting to see people in my group do different things so it should be fun to see what they do next.
