Give us your response to the activity today. What word did you choose from the full value contract and how did that word come into play during the activity today?
I thought that we did a good job in communicating once we established order. we worked well together and we encouraged everyone. I chose smiling and I definitely saw people smile.
I chose a word trust becasue in every activities we do, trust has taken the place, so i thought trust will work to complete this activity again. Expectedly trusting worked. Everyone trusted each other and their commands. Although this activity seemed dangerous, it was good activity for us to feel the trust from mates once again.
I chose the word communication because in every activity we do, we need to communicate. This word came into play because when we were planning what to do, we all shared our ideas and communicated. I thought it was a really good activity that allowed us to use teamwork and was also fun! (:
It was overall fun, but a little frustrating at times. I felt like people sometimes did things in a way that was harder that it had to be. Some people didn't really have to stand on the board to make it stable. Instead, i think some times we had too many unnecessary people on the board. It was nerve racking to see the board bend. i chose the word fun, and i guess it was fun at times. Emma Jade
I thought that the activity was interesting. The activity truely showed how different people can think. Our group had everyone walking over one by one. I picked the word trust. I had to show trust and everyone had to trust the idea. Some people had doubts if the ideas would work. The activity was hard because the wood planks would constantly move.
The word I chose was teamwork and I believe the group I was with accomplished this very well because we all helped each other and worked as a team to get everyone across safely. Overall I think it was a fun activity and interesting cuz I had never really done an activity like that before.
I chose the words communication and smile. I chose these words because in order for a group to work together, communication is key. As a group, we had to communicate in order to come up with the best way to complete the goal, as well as help the "blind" people across. 'Smile' came into play because nobody wants to have a sulky group and smiling always encourages others. =]
I chose the words "helping others." I think in order to be successful everyone had to help each other in some way or another, weather it was physically helping the people across or giving encouragement when people feel. I think my group did a good job helping each other in both aspects (physically, mentally) especailly when the blind people had to go across. It took us a couple of tries to perfect our strategy, but we eventually made it over successfully.
Communication because we all need to make sure we knew what was going on. I thought this activity was relatively easy because my group was able to get everyone across without much difficulty. We encouraged each other and helped "lead the blind".
It took some creativity and strategy to complete it but overall it was a good activity. Also good because we brought back old stuff that we learned and put it into the activity
I chose communication because we needed to discuss how to succeed this activity without hurting anyone. We also helped each other to encourage ourselves.
I chose cooperation because I thought that was what our group was lacking. Some people just didn't feel like trying that day and that made the task so much harder for those people that actually cared. It was just kind of annoying that people still act like that this late in the year :/
I thought that my group did a good job getting across the wood. But i was a little dangerous if the wood wasnt leveled and i know it hit one of my friends in the leg. But it definitly was good at making us communicate
I chose the word trust because we've been working with it through everything (rappeling, climbing, etc) and I used it by trying to make sure the wooden plank didn't go flying up and knock someone over. In other words, I wanted them to trust me. :)
this activity was very entertaining, my group completed it almost everytime we tried it, while we had some difficulties at first, when we worked together and talked it out we made a lot of progress. I chose to be nice and kind to people and not get frustrated when we couldn't get it right away!
This activity was very entertaining, our group got it but not at first. When everyone started cooperating and working together we got a lot more accomplsihed. i chose to be kind and nice and not get frustrated if we didn't make it across right away.
I have been teaching since 1995. I started teaching at Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine. In 2001 I began teaching at Fremd. I am an assistant golf and wrestling coach. I have also coached boys gymnastics and I was a sponsor for Powder Puff Football and Outdoor Adventure Club. I am the 4th child of 5, 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. I am married and I have two great boys 2 1/2 year old and a 5 week old. Chase and Brody. I love it when I come home and chase yells out "DADDY" and has a big smile on his face and is coming to hug me.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't here on Friday but I heard about the activity. It seems that teamwork seems to be prevalent to get everyone to the otherside.
